INTRODUCING NEW CRYSTAL HEALTH SERVICES
Background Information
New Crystal Health Services blossomed from a humble beginning as New Crystal Clinic. New Crystal Clinic started operation in October 2003 with the mission to provide service to humanity. New Crystal Clinic came into being because of the need of the people of Ashaiman to have good quality but affordable health care which should be comparable to any in the country. We also harbor a latent desire which is gradually coming into fruition to revolutionalize the herbal medicine industry in this country. This need has been met to a large extent and the continuous patronage and goodwill our facilities enjoy in Ashaiman and its environs is a proof that we have lived up to our mission statement.
New Crystal Health Service is a modern and forward looking institution situated on the 1st Floor of the Post Office Building near Ashaiman main Lorry station. The facility is readily accessible being located in the middle of Ashaiman town. We have affiliates and annexes in places like Adjei-Kojo, Michel Camp, Ashaiman Night Market area, and currently Tema Community Eight (8). The geographical spread of our services makes it particularly attractive for companies who have healthcare programs for their staff and their dependant. This is because of the speed, ease and the savings they make before accessing the services, especially in these days of high transport costs. Our most important assets are our friendly, courteous, dedicated and discrete staffs who appreciate the importance of our clients. Our charges are also competitive and most often compare favourably with those of the public health institutions.
Our Services
We provide a 24-hour comprehensive general medical care including general consultation, antenatal, maternity, postnatal, counseling and selected specialist services. An efficient assisted referral system is in place for cases that cannot be handled here. We also have a well equipped theatre, a 24-hour ambulance service and a well-stocked dispensary. We are currently incorporating herbal and alternative medicine into our services. We are also minded of the fact that the human cannot be really well if the spiritual aspects of his or her life is not managed in addition to the physical needs of the person. That has informed our decision to add men and women of religion in our healthcare delivery team. Some of the common conditions seen are malaria, typhoid fever, HIV/AIDS, domestic violence cases, road traffic accidents, labour complications and skin conditions. We also have a well equipped diagnostic centre which enables us to do haematological, biochemical, and microbiological tests. We also have an ECG and Ultrasound equipments to diagnose cardiac, abdominal, pelvic and obstetrics conditions.
We place a very high premium on health education since we are firm believers in preventive medicine as opposed to curative medicine. We take this health education very seriously and do not spare any opportunity to educate our clients on their health. In furtherance of this, we regularly give health talks to groups and organizations. We also write a weekly health education column in the Daily Guide Newspaper.
Again, we agree that the role of the customer in the attainment of quality health care provision is very crucial. In order to achieve great customer satisfaction, we have instituted various client Feedback Teams in our various areas of operation. This move is to enable us meet the needs of our clients, as this feedback will serve as a check on our service provision.
We also provide services to reputable companies like Tex Styles Ghana Ltd, Trusty Foods Ltd, Maersk Ghana Ltd, Indo Ghana Enamel, Catholic Relief Services, Tema Lube Oil, Ghanal, Red Sea Housing Company Ltd, AWMIL Ltd, InterPark Ltd, Danicom Ltd, Multichannel Ltd, Sethi Brothers Ghana Ltd, PolyKraft Ghana Ltd, 3A Halaal Company, Jospong Group of Companies, GAFCO, EMEFS ESTATES, etc.

We are registered with the Private Hospital and Maternity Homes board with certificate number H/MB 1320. We are also registered service providers with the MetCare Health Plan, GLICO Health Plan, Med-X Health Systems, Summit Insurance Company, Mutual Allaince Health Plan and Nationwide Mutual Insurance Scheme. We are also an accredited service provider under the National Health Insurance Scheme and proud to be one of the few private health institutions providing service to Ghanaians under NHIS. We are affiliated to the Centre for Scientific Research into Plant Medicine (Mampong) where we obtain our herbal preparations and also get technical advice.
Drugs
New Crystal Health Services believes in providing good quality and affordable healthcare. We therefore use standard drugs approved by the Ministry of Health and the Food and Drugs Board. These drugs have been continuously supplied by reputable registered pharmaceutical companies like Ernest Chemist, Kinapharma, Tobinco Pharmaceuticals, M&G Pharmaceuticals, DanAdams Pharmaceuticals, Ekuus-Pharmaceuticals, Sanbao Pharmaceuticals Ltd and Kojach Pharmaceuticals, to mention a few. Additionally, we treat our patients with efficacious herbal preparations produced by the Centre for Scientific Research into Plant Medicine, Mampong. The efficacy of our medication is evident in the consistent trust and confidence our cherished clients repose in us everyday. Coupled with this, the drugs are very affordable compared to those sold elsewhere.
Objective
We believe that knowledge is like a baobab tree; one person cannot encircle it totally. That is why we want to take advantage of the technological breakthroughs in modern orthodox medicine in the fields of molecular biology, physiology, microbiology, surgery and diagnostic equipment and combine these with alternative (herbal, acupuncture) and complementary medicine in a way that is in consonance with our religious and traditional sensibilities. This is to ensure we derive maximum benefit from all the available bodies of knowledge. It is in this direction that we are integrating our services to make sure the spiritual needs of our clients are catered for. As already outlined, education is one the pillars on which New Crystal Health Services is built and our objective is to help create a medically well informed population.
We also intend to get into collaborative research arrangement with institutions engaged in research into orthodox, alternative and complementary medicine. This collaborative work has already started with the Centre for Scientific Research into Plant Medicine at Mampong, and we hope to deepen and widen this collaboration.
We also intend to deepen our collaboration with religious bodies; i.e., Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, etc, to provide holistic and integrated health service. We will also be reaching out to our citadels of learning like our universities, the teaching hospitals and other institutions of higher learning to make New Crystal Health Services a centre of excellence in service delivery and training of health personnel.
Projections
In the foreseeable future, New Crystal Health Services would become the leading private healthcare service provider in Ghana and beyond working side-by-side with the government and integrating the administration of orthodox, alternative and complementary medicine in a spiritually fulfilling environment. This would help advance the frontiers of medicine (orthodox, alternative and complementary) and will put Ghana on the world map as another first. Above all, we would strive to maintain the unique New Crystal Health Services trademark of affordability. We hope to convince our fellow country men to make the paradigm shift from curative to preventive and which shall be firmly grounded on a solid health education foundation. We would work to ensure that our health facilities would become places where people would acquire health promoting life skills instead of a place for curative medicine or damage control medicine
All this is the modest contribution of the staff of New Crystal Health Services to the building of our country, because we believe that the greatest asset of any nation is not its minerals and natural resources but its people, and a healthy populace is a great asset indeed!!!
All are welcome to visit us, get some education and have a free blood pressure check.
